DLGS Secures Client Victory in the America Invents Act

On September 8, the Senate passed and sent to the President the America Invents Act, the first major patent law overhaul in 60 years. President Obama is expected to sign the legislation into law. This caps a six year congressional effort to update the nation’s patent law for the 21st century. Several members of the DLGS lobbying team, including Ken Salomon and Stephen Sayle, worked with a client to develop and then secure a provision in the bill that begins to address the problem of patent troll litigation. Bruce Wieder and David Long of the Intellectual Property practice of DLGS’s parent law firm, Dow Lohnes PLLC, provided substantive advice.
