Pete Leon has nearly two decades as a political professional in Washington, DC. He spent ten years working for four Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. During most of that time, he served as legislative director for two Members of the New York delegation – former Rep. Mike Forbes (D-NY), who served on the Appropriations Committee, and Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), who currently serves on the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee and on the Foreign Affairs Committee. In prior years, he worked for Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), now Speaker of the House, and for Rep. Joe Kennedy (D-MA). During his tenure on Capitol Hill, he focused on appropriations, energy, the environment, housing, human rights, tax, and telecommunications issues.
As a professional lobbyist, Pete has nearly a decade of experience representing large and small companies and associations, including the "Fortune 5" and small educational software companies. Pete previously worked at COMPTEL, the competitive telecommunications industry association where he succeeded Robert McDowell following Mr. McDowell’s appointment as a Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission. He has also worked as a lobbyist for the American Association of Engineering Societies, advocating for greater federal R&D and better math and science education. Immediately prior to joining DLGS, Pete worked as a lobbyist at Lent, Scrivner and Roth.
